John 14:6
WHO WE ARE
Brock Tisdale Memorial Missions is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization formed in memory of a young man with a mission. Brock Tisdale Memorial Missions has secured and operates under a trade name, Oh Yeah! Missions! This trade name was derived from:
Brock had a couple (if not many more) of catch phrases that became his slogan's so to speak. He loved to use the phrase "Oh Yeah" to answer everyday general questions, even when goofiness was not needed in his answer, you would get that crazy look in his eye, and a very comical “Oh Yeah” for an answer, along with the word "Definitely" and others, it's just one of the many funny quirks we remember about this young man God blessed us with. The day of his Memorial Service the phrase “Oh Yeah!” was used throughout, and now has become a reminder of Brock's attitude that we feel he would have displayed toward all the missions we are doing to continue his legacy!
“In July 2018, Brock surrendered his life to missions. I still remember him texting me from Falls Creek to give me the news. He was so excited. When he came back to make his decision public to his home church it was a moving moment. I remember very plainly, Brock giving his testimony that Sunday and that same day over $9,000 were raised and a mission program was born. What a glorious day! He was so excited about this and couldn’t wait to spread the news of Jesus Christ!”
On September 16, 2018 Brock lost his life in a tragic accident at his home in Tushka, Oklahoma. Through the testimonies that followed it was apparent that God had been working through him in many lives. We heard stories of him being the first to reach out to the “new kid”, bringing a very timid young man out of his “shell”, providing assurances and comfort to a young lady about it being okay to be proud of her Christian beliefs in public, professing his faith without shame, to protecting a child that was being bullied, and being a leader that started a mission movement.
Brock had clearly been an influence on an “area”.
WHAT WE DO
When Brock made his surrender to missions he had a concern. He had watched as his sister and friends had made prior commitments and no support was ever offered. He even mentioned to his parents that “it probably won’t matter, because sis committed to missions and nothing ever came of it”. It is time for churches to quit clapping their young missionaries off the stage. In rural Oklahoma there is a need for a resource for our youth, young adults, and others to have a place to grow as missionaries. We watched for several years children of God giving their testimonies about committing their lives to missions and for three years we clapped those commitments off the stage and offered no support until one young man’s testimony that established a mission program. We have discovered this is a problem in many of our small rural churches.
It is overwhelming to small churches to be involved in a mission program. There is not enough people, finances, or other resources. Because of this, when we have Christians committing to missions they often lack the support to carry out that mission commitment. Brock was concerned for this exact thing happening to him. This is where Oh Yeah! Missions comes in.
We see Oh Yeah! Missions as a network for churches to send their missionaries. We will be a resource for churches to send their missionaries to participate in local, national, and foreign missions. It is our vision for these missionaries to establish relationships and support groups that will give opportunity for these life mission commitments our youth of today are making.
OUR VISION
The organization will aid, assist, and be a resource for churches and missionaries of this area and beyond. It is our goal to be an organizer of missions, support for missionaries (especially youth) and resource to continue the advancement of the kingdom of God. We are here to assist in the development of disciples. It is our dream that from this support that healthy mission programs are established and continue in the expansion of God’s Kingdom.
Oh Yeah! Missions will continue Brock’s story through this organization. As commanded by Jesus our Lord and Savior, we will continue to carry out the sharing of the gospel of Jesus, first locally then abroad. It is our vision for these missionaries to establish relationships and support groups that will give opportunity for these commitments our youth made to carry out “THE GREAT COMMISSION”.
